A Nottinghamshire caravan and motorhome home supplier is set to open its third outlet after purchasing a former engineering site, creating up to 40 jobs in the process.Kimberley, which was set up in 1981 and has branches in Kimberley and Darlington, has acquired a site on Holbeck Close, Chesterfield, which once housed Multiplex Engineering and its specialist marine valves and equipment.Planning permission to transform the derelict site into a caravan and motorhome sales centre with offices and servicing workshops was submitted to Chesterfield Borough Council in April. If successful, Kimberley aims to have the new branch up and running by late summer 2021, eventually growing to display approximately 150 new and pre-used leisure vehicles. The proposed change would create up to 35 full-time jobs, as well as five part-time roles.Legal advice for the transaction was provided by Browne Jacobson, led by Mark Hymers. The planning application was completed with assistance from DLP Consultants and Matthew Montague Architects.
