Civil engineering firm appointed to Aldi development
A civil engineering business has been appointed to carry out land raising and groundworks for a new Aldi supermarket.Hessle-based CR Reynolds was awarded the £1m contract by the Horncastle Group, the lead developer on the Brough South mixed-use residential, retail, leisure, and commercial scheme on the south side of the Hull to Selby railway track.East Riding of Yorkshire Council granted planning permission for the supermarket on land to the south of Bluebird Way, opposite Hunsley Primary School, earlier this month.Preparation work on the 2.17-acre site, which will include 136 car parking spaces, is due to get underway this month (August 2020) and is expected to last for about 16 weeks.Brough South is being brought forward by the Horncastle Group on behalf of the Brough South Consortium, which includes the developer, landowner and developer Alma Jordan (Builders) Ltd, Riplingham Estates and BAE Systems.
