Clivedale London wins planning permission for prestigious St James office scheme

Clivedale London has been granted planning permission for the refurbishment and office extension of the Crown Estate’s 20-24 Carlton House Terrace.The planning application was unanimously approved by Westminster City Council and will enhance the 1970s building.The extensive refurbishment will see the delivery of an additional two new floors to complement the existing 89,000 sq ft of commercial space. This is currently occupied by Anglo American and DeBeers, whose lease expires in March 2020.Clivedale London is developing a mixed-use portfolio of investment properties in Westminster.In 2017, the Mayfair based developer opened its headquarters at 73 Brook Street, and now continues to progress with the construction of 75 -77 Brook Street, in addition to the Mandarin Oriental Mayfair hotel in Hanover square.Carlton House Terrace will offer a new concept of luxury workspace in London’s most recognised office location ‘St James’.Working with the landlord Crown Estates, Clivedale London recognises the opportunity to reposition Carlton House Terrace to provide modern workspace for future tenants and improve its connectivity to nearby Trafalgar Square.Clivedale London purchased the site in September 2018 from a pension fund client of LaSalle Investment Management, for which JLL acted for the vendor.
