Co-living plans for Darlington building

Plans have been revealed to convert a building in Darlington into a co-living development.Applicants Ben Quaintrell and Olly Lawson, who both have extensive experience in property development and management, are seeking approval for the change of use of 37 to 39 Victoria Road, which is shortly to become vacant.The co-living scheme is designed to provide accommodation at a more affordable price for those who don’t mind sharing community spaces.Under the plans, a series of living pods would be create, each of which containin a lounge-diner, kitchen, dedicated workspace, and toilet.Four bedrooms and a bathroom would be situated on the ground floor; three bedrooms, a kitchen, and bathroom on the first; and a further three bedrooms on the second floor. Seven bedrooms would have en-suite facilities.The applicants are currently exploring an opportunity to install renewable energy heating systems.
