A major new scheme offering coworking space and private office suites is set to open at Royal William Yard in Plymouth and will also feature a café and bar alongside fitness and events facilities.BLOCK is the largest space ever leased by Urban Splash at the historic waterfront destination, with 17,000 sq ft taken over two floors of the Melville building. It is set to open by the end of the year. BLOCK is a new workspace brand and part of The Cheriton Group that is behind Pynes Hill business centre in Exeter and a host of leisure facilities. Further amenities are planned for the next phase of the project, after BLOCK Plymouth has opened, including new fitness and events facilities. The space will be designed by RIBA award-winning Gillespie Yunnie Architects, which has worked with Urban Splash throughout the Yard’s 17-year regeneration. Sustainability is central to the business, which will be carbon neutral, use renewable energy, and seek to deploy environmentally-friendly and ethical products and practices.
