Commercial units proposed for Sunderland site
Plans have been lodged for new commercial units close to the Nissan plant in Sunderland to support the expansion of an engineering company.Ralgreen has submitted an application to Sunderland City Council for a development of units at Turbine Business Park for use by Windsor Engineering.Planning permission is sought for the construction of two units on the 2.3-acre site, located between Sunderland Highway (A1231) and a Nissan test track.The proposed units would each comprise about 5,000 sqft of office space over two floors and 9,100 sq ft of workshop and storage space, together with external yard areas.A total of 32 parking spaces would be provided between the units.Flexible planning consent covering a range of employment uses (use classes B1, B2 and B8) to provide flexibility for future occupiers and ensure the schemes makes a “positive contribution to the local economy”.
