Committee set to back extra care facility plans
Outline plans for an extra care facility in Surrey look set to be backed next week.The application concerns the former Pinehurst Care Home site at 141 Park Road, Camberley.The original facility was constructed in the late 1980s and replaced the original early 20th century Pinehurst home.Prior approval was granted on 14 April 2021 for the demolition of all buildings on site.Outline permission is now being sought for a building of between one and four storeys to provide specialist affordable housing designed for older people.This would comprise approximately 60 self-contained apartments with communal and staff areas.The housing would be for the affordable rental sector, managed by a registered social housing provider with nomination rights from the local authority Surrey Heath Borough Council.The application is now set to go before Surrey County Council on 25 October with a recommendation for approval.
