The duration of the resultant contract will be for 4 years with an option to extend for a further 3 years. The Council are looking to consolidate all their current arrangements preferably into a single contract with a single service provider including the transfer of plant, equipment and vehicles.Recognition will be given at the tender stage for the synergistic benefits of awarding the contract to a single contractor. Any eventual contract award will include minor highways improvements works dealing with discrete schemes up to a maximum contract value of 250 000 GBP but with the potential for the Council to award schemes up to a maximum contract value of 500 000 GBP at its discretion. Responses to the pre qualification questionnaire will be used to create a short list of tenderers who will then be invited to tender. The selection criteria for short listing will include economic and financial assessment, technical ability, equalities, health and safety, and environmental management. Tenderers are advised that TUPE (Transfer of Undertakings Protection of Employment) may apply.
