Construction giant behind 150-home Ripon plans
One of the UK’s largest housebuilders is behind plans to build 150 new homes on a site in Ripon, North Yorkshire.Taylor Wimpey, which is listed on the London Stock Exchange and forms part of the FTSE 100, intends to develop a new housing scheme to the south of Ripon, boundaries by the A61 and Harrogate Road.Plans were submitted to Harrogate Borough Council for the 10.7 hectare site which sits close to Bellwood Farm and consists of agricultural land. The scheme would have a density of 30 dwellings per hectare and the development area would cover 12.6 acres, delivering around 150 dwellings depending on layout.A total of 13.8 acres would remain utilised as open space with defined greenspace and a children’s play area to the east of the site.
