Construction underway on logistics space
Construction is underway on an industrial/logistics space in the Black Country.Mercia Real Estate is redeveloping an industrial park in Wednesbury bringing forward a facility known as Wednesbury 65.A detailed planning application for GWS trading estate on Leabrook Road was approved last year.So far, the project has seen the demolition of existing buildings and construction of a new commercial unit. The property is a 12 minute drive from junction 9 on the M6 and will comprise a single grade A distribution warehouse totalling 65,000 sq ft, incorporating ground and first floor ancillary office accommodation.Sam Clark, chief executive of Mercia Real Estate, said: “Our portfolio has an industrial bias for a reason and we have historically found the Black Country a fantastic place to invest given the number of potential occupiers and strong transport links.”We have a number of other projects in course and will continue to deploy capital into those areas where we see value.”
