Cornwall homes secure approval
An affordable housing scheme lined up for a site in Cornwall has been backed.LiveWest Homes – which provides homes across the South West – is behind the application, which is earmarked for Polgine Lane in Troon. The 30-strong development will largely comprise two-storey terraced properties with the addition of four flats, two single-storey wheelchair accessible units and a detached home.A report drawn up ahead of Cornwall Council’s planning committee meeting noted that while there would be a “degree of harm” resulting from the development, the proposal offers an “extremely positive response to the county-wide housing crisis in an area where a high need for affordable dwellings has been identified”.”In view of its accessible location and appropriate relationship with the village, the site is a good candidate for the development proposed,” it added.”To off-set the ecological impacts and result in a net gain in biodiversity, a large area to the rear of the housing development is proposed for ecological enhancement to form an area of natural green space.”Approval has now been granted, as per the officer’s recommendation.
