Council backs extension of landmark development
A proposed extension to a landmark development on Rolls-Royce-owned land in Nottinghamshire has been backed by the council.Muse Developments and Rolls-Royce secured permission for 900 homes and more than one million sq ft of employment space on land at on Hucknall’s Watnall Road in 2014. The commercial element of the scheme is now known as Harrier Park. However, only 754 residential units have either been built out, are under construction or consented in that application area. This has led to a deficit of 150 dwellings. The pair sought outline permission for two residential extensions on land previously earmarked for commercial development within the consented 2013 application. The site will provide for a maximum of 261 new homes across two phases, resulting in a further 75 properties above the 900 units approved under the prior application.Additionally, plans also include the supply of additional employment land within Harrier Business Park extending to approximately 2.7 acres. The extension has been approved, subject to conditions.
