Council has clear vision for Cambuslang town centre improvements
A ‘wide-ranging’ strategy and action plan for Cambuslang town centre has been agreed, South Lanarkshire Council has said.A number of action points will be taken forward to improve the town centre following extensive consultation with Cambuslang residents earlier in the year.Developments include the possible replacement of street furniture, a new approach to commercial waste management, upgrading shopfronts, a review of parking in the area, a signage review, and development of a business forum.Alongside the work, the Cambuslang future group – a sub-group of the community council – secured £620,000 in funding through the Scottish Government Town Centre Fund. South Lanarkshire Council say that the award will allow for a ‘significant’ section of the town’s Main Street to be resurfaced.
