Councillors recommended to approve hundreds of Aberdeen homes

A developer’s proposals to build more than 200 homes as part of a wider housing development in Aberdeen have been recommended for approval.Aberdeen City Council will meet this Thursday to debate Dandara’s plan to build 216 houses and flats on land to the south of Hazledene Road, on the western outskirts of Countesswells.A design statement submitted with the application in December said the plan introduces smaller homes more suited to smaller families and individuals within the wider Pinewood and Hazledene development, while also retaining the larger family homes.Planning officials have recommended approving the newest tranche of housing as long as legal agreements are signed with the firm.The latest proposed housing development would be spread across five different development zones.If the plans are approved, this would increase the total number of homes within the wider site to 479.
