Plans to build an almost 140-strong housing development on Sheffield Hallam University’s former cricket pitch look set to be approved.DLP Planning is behind the proposals, which are earmarked for the city’s Norton Playing Fields. The company hopes to build 138 homes on the site, which has not been in use since 1998..Despite this, and the site not being used as a cricket pitch for almost 20 years, DLP Planning has confirmed that it is agreeable to the provision of a financial contribution of £265,000 to be used to provide or improve cricket pitch provision elsewhere in the city.A decision will be made on 11 July.
