Countryside signs deal to build 200-home Harrogate scheme
Mixed-tenure development giant Countryside has exchanged contracts with Homes England to create a 200-home scheme in Harrogate.The development is the first for Countryside in Harrogate since establishing its presence in Yorkshire in 2019.The new community will replace the former National Policing Improvement Agency training centre off Yew Tree Lane.Homes England appointed Countryside as its development partner via its Delivery Partner Panel 3 (DPP3) framework. Of the 200 homes, 140 will be available on the open market with the remaining properties available for affordable rent or affordable ownership through a registered partner.Work will include the conversion of several buildings to create 16 homes alongside 184 new build properties.Construction at the site is expected to start in earl 2022. Parkland, access roads and a cycle link will also be created.
