Countryside starts work on huge North West development
Countryside has begun preparations on what is being designed as one of the largest strategic housing developments in the North West.The company recently bought 175 acres of land off Nel Pan Lane in Leigh, where it will build 1,700 new homes, a district centre, infrastructure and the retention of green open space over a ten-year period.Consultants are currently preparing reports to support a planning application, which includes the review of the site’s existing outline consent for the development of such properties.Countryside and Wigan Council are working in partnership, with the former also set to invest approximately £10m in a section of a planned new link road between M6/J26 and M61/J5.Countryside hopes to submit an outline application before the end of the year.
