1. Title: COVID-19 FUNDING NEEDS FOR VOLUNTEER, COMMUNITY AND FAITH SECTOR ORGANISATIONS – SHORT DEADLINE2. Awarding Authority: Sheffield City Council, GB Email: commercialservices@sheffield.gov.uk. Web: 3. Contract type: Service contract4. Description: The Awarding Authority have announced the opening of an Expression of Interest fact finding exercise to gather Coronavirus funding needs from volunteer, community and faith sector organisations. The volunteer, community and faith sector has each made a vital contribution by supporting local communities during Covid-19 (coronavirus) and we are seeking details to make sure we know what funding would be needed to continue this vital work.To do this we need to understand the full range of organisations that are supporting communities to respond to Covid-19 and how much this costs them. We are therefore asking organisations to complete an expression of interest form and return it to us.Sheffield City Council has established a Steering Group to then consider this information received in the expressions of interest and recommend how funding could be allocated. Voluntary Action Sheffield and Faith Star are members of this group.Sheffield City Council is exploring the possibility of two stages of funding. Depending on the responses we receive, these stages may look like this:Small pots of money to continue immediate Covid-response activity for three months.Funding to provide the infrastructure and systems to enable organisations to work together and collaborate well to enhance the Covid-response, alongside funding for further activity. To be clear, the current expression of interest form is to gather information about stage 1 funding needs only.We are looking to hear from VCF groups that have supported the Council or a local community in response to Covid-19.The types of activities may be the provision of food or medicine to vulnerable people. Or an organisation may have been working to raise awareness of Covid-19 in their community and encouraging people to follow guidelines. This is a fact-finding exercise and not a competitive process. We do not expect this to take up lots of time, so at this stage we are asking for key contact details and the type of work an organisation has been and will be doing to help us understand what funding each organisation needs.5.
