Deal struck for portfolio of wind projects
A portfolio of four operating wind projects in Northern Ireland has been acquired.European Clean Energy Infrastructure (CEI), a Capital Dynamics business, has reached an agreement to acquire the projects which total 68 megawatts of generation capacity from Brookfield Renewable Partners.The portfolio is incentivised under the Northern Ireland Renewables Obligation – the government’s main support mechanism to encourage increased renewable electricity generation.Capital Dynamics will become one of the largest independent operators of wind power in Northern Ireland as a result of the acquisition, with Brookfield continuing to provide operational support for the portfolio under a long-term services arrangement.
