Decision finally set to be made on Enderby Logistics hubAfter over four years since the initial planning application, a decision is finally scheduled for the extensive warehouse development on the outskirts of Enderby.District councillors are set to convene on Thursday (October 5), to discuss the Enderby Logistics Hub, which involves covering large areas of fields near the village with concrete.Their aim is to create a new centre for the logistics industry with a new warehouse and distribution space and a logistics training centre.The plan for this project was initially submitted to Blaby District Council’s planning department back in February 2019.However, the decision was postponed to allow for additional traffic analysis.In 2019, when the application was first presented to the council, the local community expressed opposition.All feedback from potential neighbours received by the council was in objection to the plans.The developers aim to construct four large warehouses near Enderby Park and Ride, off St Johns.The project has the potential to create 1,500 jobs on-site and support hundreds more in the local community, as stated by the applicants Drummond Estate and The Inverock Trust.They’ve also put forth a separate plan for a road that would go around Enderby. If it gets approved, it would start from Mill Hill north of Enderby, pass through Leicester Commercial Park, and connect to Leicester Lane. This road is intended to redirect traffic away from the village.
