Deferred plans for the development of new homes in Dorset have been recommended for approval.Southern Strategic Land is behind the application, which concerns a site in Broadmayne.Proposed are up to 80 homes, with a minimum 45 per cent being affordable and a maxiumum 55 per cent being market housing. There would also be public open space and a wide range of biodiversity enhancements. At the 20 July Western and Southern Area planning committee of Dorset Council, members considered the application provided a “positive contribution to much-needed housing in the area and the 45 per cent on-site provision of affordable housing would benefit the local housing market”.They resolved that the application be deferred to a subsequent committee meeting for members to consider the wording of planning conditions, given that the committee “were minded to approve the application subject to the completion of a legal agreement and suitably worded planning conditions”.The application will now go back before the committee on 7 September, again with a recommendation for approval.
