Demolition plan revealed by Rolls-Royce
Engineering giant Rolls-Royce is seeking permission to demolish two old buildings at its civil aerospace division in Derby.The company has submitted an application to the city council to knock down the large buildings that look onto Victory Road which runs through the Sinfin site.The Quantum Building is more than 21,000 sq ft and has been previously used as workshops and storage warehousing while the three-storey Basset Block has been used as offices.A document sent to the council by AECOM on behalf of Rolls-Royce said the scheme is part of “rationalisation and consolidation” plans at the site.The council is expected to make a final decision on the plan in the coming months.
