Derbyshire housing plans deferred
A housing development proposed for agricultural land in Derbyshire has been deferred.Richborough Estates and Statham Property Maintenance LLP is seeking outline planning permission to build up to 75 properties on land off Chesterfield Road and Quarry Lane in Matlock. The site extends to 10.55 acres and contains land used for agricultural grazing.A statement from the applicants said: “The combined benefits of the proposal in economic, social and environmental terms are substantial and must be given appropriate weight. The socio-economic benefits in particular must be given very significant positive weight.”For these reasons, it is considered that the planning balance weighs decisively in favour of granting planning permission.”Derbyshire Dales District Council’s planning committee reviewed the plans on 13 December, deferring the application until a later date.
