Designs for a potential new £20m leisure, community and office hub in Nottinghamshire are progressing.Specialist consultants are continuing to work with Rushcliffe Borough Council to produce the plans for the new facility in Bingham. In February the council’s cabinet approved recommendations to draw up plans for the facility that could create up to 90 jobs as part of the wider plans for the town. They include a new swimming pool, fitness gym, exercise and spin studios, cafe and serviced offices on land owned by the authority on Chapel Lane in the town, north of the town’s railway line.Bingham Town Council is also being consulted on the requirements for a community hall within the main leisure centre building.Final detailed designs will lead to an application for planning permission later this year and could see a new centre open in December 2021.
