Detailed plans for almost 260 homes receive go-ahead
Detailed plans for the construction of almost 260 homes on a former industrial site in Stourbridge have been approved.Taylor Wimpey sought reserved matters approval to build 256 properties on land off Old Wharf Road.Extending to approximately 19 acres, the brownfield site was previously in industrial use. However, all of the former buildings that were previously on site have been demolished.Outline approval was granted in November 2020 to allow the development of up to 332 units and associated infrastructure on a split site at land on Old Wharf Road and Bradley Road.The reserved matters application relates solely to the Old Wharf Road land and consists of a mix of one and two-bedroom flats and two to four-bedroom houses.Plans were reviewed by Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council’s planning committee on 17 November.The scheme has been approved, subject to conditions.
