Detailed plans for almost 80 homes set for green light
Detailed plans for almost 80 affordable homes in Leicestershire have been recommended for approval ahead of a planning committee meeting next week.EMH Group is seeking reserved matters approval from Blaby District Council to build 78 properties on the north western corner and rear of the Whittle Estate, which is located to the west of Cambridge Road, Whetstone.Measuring approximately 7.3 acres, the application site is brownfield land, part of which comprises a former railway embankment.Plans include the development of one supported living unit, including 12 apartments, 35 two-bed houses, including 14 bungalows, 27 three-bed and four four-bed houses.The applicant is proposing a 100 per cent affordable mix, 39 of which are proposed as shared ownership units, 27 as social rented housing and the 12 apartments which are intended to be used as supported living units for vulnerable adults.Off-street car parking is also proposed to serve each dwelling.The application will be reviewed by the council’s planning committee on 29 July.
