Detailed plans in for office building on South Bank site
Detailed plans have been lodged for a new office building forming part of the redevelopment of the Tetley Brewery site in Leeds’ South Banks.Developer Vastint UK has submitted a reserved matters application to Leeds City Council for Plot MU4 at Aire Park.Planning permission is sought for the construction of a seven-storey building with offices on the upper floors and flexible commercial uses on the ground floor.In total, the proposed building would provide about 121,000 sq ft of space, of which about 114,000 sq ft would be offices.The project team comprises Cartwright Pickard (architect), Barton Willmore (agent), Curtins (civil and structural engineer), Futureserv (services engineer), Planit (landscape architects), Stantec (transport consultant), Design Fire (fire consultant), Buro Happold (wind consultant) and Hoare Lea (acoustic consultant and BREEAM consultant).Outline planning permission was granted in 2018 for the redevelopment of the wider Tetley Brewery site. The scheme is set to comprise 850 homes, 915,000 sq ft of space for offices, and 161,500 sq ft of space for shops, restaurants, bars and takeaways, as well as accommodation for financial and professional service providers.Detailed plans were approved towards the end of last year for a new city park at the development, as well as about 300,000 sq ft of commercial space.
