Detailed plans have been lodged for a residential development on a former NHS site in Sheffield.Expresso Property, supported by DLP Planning, has submitted a full planning application to Sheffield City Council for the Fulwood House site. The site on Old Fulwood Road was previously used as offices by the NHS. It comprises an eight-storey tower block, two storey office blocks, service buildings, ancillary children’s nursery, and a car park.It also includes Fulwood House itself, an Edwardian building considered to be of local interest by the council.Planning permission is sought for the demolition of the existing buildings, with the exception of the former Fulwood House, and construction of 88 residential units. The proposed accommodation would comprise 15 houses, six apartments in the converted Fulwood house, and 67 apartments across five blocks. The main apartment building would include basement car parking, gymnasium, swimming pool and social meeting area.A planning statement submitted as part of the application said: “The proposal will deliver a high-quality residential development in a highly sustainable location, and it will make efficient and viable use of an available brownfield site, at a time when Sheffield City Council do not have a sufficient five-year housing land supply.”Outline planning permission has previously been granted for the redevelopment of the site, establishing the principle of residential development.
