Developer plans to replace office with 100 apartments
A Manchester-based property developer has lodged plans to demolish its office building on the edge of the city centre and replace it with a high-rise scheme featuring 100 apartments for private sale and new commercial space.Realty Estates has submitted a full planning application with Manchester City Council to demolish the existing single-storey office building on the site at 25 Rochdale Road, near the Co-operative Group’s landmark One Angel Square development, and construct a part-eight-storey and part-15 storey residential block.The project involves creating 74 two-bed and 26 one-bed apartments, as well as 2,304 sq ft of ground-floor commercial space accessed from Rochdale Road. The scheme, which has been designed by Hodder+Partners, steps down from a proposed NOMA building near the Angel pub to the chapel on Sharp Street.
