Developer returns with Tollcross flats and commercial units plan
Revised plans have been submitted to deliver flats and commercial units in the East End of Glasgow.Cater Group wants to develop six flats above two retail units at 1042 Tollcross Road.Designed by Neil Rothnie Architecture, the four-storey building will include a terrace for residents at first floor level at the rear of the building.A similar proposal for the site, which specifically included a hot food takeaway outlet, was rejected earlier this year.Other issues listed include:The takeaway would mean that the accepted level of food and drink uses within the street block had been exceeded. The scale and design of the commercial units compromised the level of amenity afforded to future residents.Lack of cycle provision for staff/visitors to the commercial units failed to encourage active travel. The hot food takeaway outlet is not included in the new proposals.
