Developer will submit new plans for Kingstone site
Developers who bought land in Kingstone which had planning permission for 150 homes said they will submit new plans for the site.Lagan Homes bought the land south of the B4349 and west of the C1221 in Kingstone from ArchiHaus.ArchiHaus had secured planning permission in 2014 for a scheme but had been unable to secure the finance to build the new homes.Lagan Homes said it does not believe that the consented scheme for new homes is commercially viable nor makes the best use of this site, so new plans will be submitted to Herefordshire Council.Kingstone and Thruxton Parish Council has identified the land as a ‘committed housing site’ in its Neighbourhood Plan.ArchiHaus sought to achieve a “high standard of sustainability through off-site construction.” Lagan Homes said it is able to adopt a similar approach for Kingstone as the company has its own facility for the off-site construction of new homes – FastHouse – which delivers homes that are quicker to build and the company said more durable and more eco-friendly than traditional houses, having a lower carbon footprint and offering excellent thermal and acoustic properties.
