Durham project lined up for approval
Plans for a new housing scheme to be built in County Durham look set to be approved despite opposition from locals.Graform Ltd’s proposals are to build 14 homes on land adjoining Snook Acres. The applicant said the scheme is designed to provide “much needed good quality new housing” to the area, and states that the development would provide economic benefits both in terms of employment during the construction phase and helping to sustain local services.Graform’s original application was for 19 homes to be built. However, this was reduced to 14 in response to comments received during the planning process.Local residents have raised concerns regarding the project, believing that it would lead to an increase in traffic and is considered to be an “overdevelopment which is out of keeping with its surroundings”.
