Easterhouse residents asked to give views on new homes planWheatley Homes Glasgow launched a public consultation with residents in the area of Lochend Road, Bishoploch.As part of the consultation, a community event is being held to get feedback on the plans which will see 69 new energy-efficient homes developed in the area for social rent.The event will be held at Easterhouse Phoenix Community Centre, 5 Shandwick Street, Glasgow, G34 9BN on Monday 18 March 2024 from 4pm – 7pm. Staff from Wheatley Homes Glasgow and MAST Architects will attend to answer questions and hear views.Local residents are encouraged to attend, learn more and give their thoughts on what type of homes their community needs.Homes would potentially be comprised of a mix of flats, cottage flats, semi-detached and terraced houses, ranging from one to four bedrooms, for social rent; as well as parking and green spaces.The proposed development would be located at land north of Lochend Road, bounded by Lochend Road, Auchengill Road, Skelbo Path (excluding the site of the former church).Aisling Mylrea, managing director of Wheatley Homes Glasgow, is encouraging local tenants to get involved.Aisling said: “It’s really important tenants living in the community have their say about the plans for new homes.“It’s their chance to help shape the plans for their community.“We want to create a fantastic new development for the area with new energy-efficient, family-friendly, homes.“If anyone can’t attend the public event in person then they can still do this online ahead of the event taking place.”Local residents can send their feedback online or by emailing publicconsultations@mastarchitects.co.uk.
