Farrans to build £50m Flitwick care village
Farrans Construction has won a £50m contract to build a residential care home and retirement housing for Central Bedfordshire Council.The development will be built on the site of the former leisure centre in Flitwick and will include a 72-bed care home, an eight-bed short stay unit and 88 independent living apartments for people over the age of 55.The facility has been designed by architects Oliver & Robb to Passivhaus sustainability standards.Farrans has been given a start date of February 2022 and is expected to hand over in time for an autumn 2023 opening.
