Formal plans in for Jewellery Quarter scheme
A formal planning application to transform a site in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter into a mixed-use scheme has been submitted.Property developer HBD is behind the proposal for the site which is currently home to Cornwall House and was first revealed in June.Located on Ludgate Hill, it is a prominent site along a key route linking St Paul’s Square and the Central Business District.HBD is proposing to demolish the existing 1970s canal-side building, replacing it with a residential scheme of 95 apartments and more than 5,000 sq ft of ground floor commercial space.The plan has been drawn up by BPN Architects.
