Former Chelmsford library headquarters set to be turned into flats
Planning permission has been granted for 31 new apartments on the site of Chelmsford’s former library warehouse.The site in Goldlay Gardens, which is owned by Essex County Council, previously provided the headquarters and warehousing for the Essex Library Service.The planning permission granted to the county council will now see the land developed with 31 new one and two-bedroom apartments.The site will now be made ready for construction with the demolition of existing buildings, with the view to construction starting next year.
