Former cinema earmarked for apartments
An application has been submitted proposing the conversion of a former cinema in Hinckley to provide new apartments.Wigston Estates Ltd is seeking planning permission to transform the former Cannon cinema on Trinity Lane.The Cannon cinema closed in May 1993 and was subsequently used as an indoor sports club before closing and becoming vacant from 2004.Lined up is 36 one-bedroom units over four floors, along with 17 car parking and 36 cycle storage spaces.”It is considered that the proposal meets with the definition of sustainable development,” a planning statement said.
