Former factory earmarked for animation studio
Plans have been submitted for the creation of an animation studio on the site of a former factory in Birmingham.Second Home Studios is seeking the go-ahead to convert 17 Pickford Street into a stop motion animation studio, along with the retention of existing ancillary office space.The main purpose of the expansion is to accommodate a new stop-motion animated series for preschool children which has been commissioned by Channel 5’s Milkshake, BBC Alba (Scotland), S4C (Wales) and TG4 in Ireland.The change of use would create between 15 and 20 jobs and provide a training pipeline for graduates of surrounding universities.
