Former Methodist church with redevelopment potential goes under the hammerA former Methodist church in Stoke-upon-Trent could finally be brought back into service when it comes up for sale at Bond Wolfe’s next auction.The former Methodist Church in Victoria Road, Fenton will feature in the livestreamed auction with a guide price of £220,000.The chapel was first erected in the Potteries town in 1884 and re-erected in 1902 but finally closed on Christmas Eve 2014, with its congregation transferring to Temple Street Methodist Church half a mile away.Ian Tudor, joint managing director auctions at Bond Wolfe, said: “This highly prominent freehold former chapel building has undergone substantial improvements over the years but remains unoccupied.“It would be suitable for a wide variety of alternative uses including day nursery, community uses, meeting rooms, educational, leisure, retail and residential subject to obtaining the necessary planning consents.“An attractive property, it offers generous and versatile accommodation over two floors.“It has been partly renovated with the installation of a robust mezzanine floor, rewiring, new plumbing, a partial new roof and the majority of windows have been replaced with UPVC double glazed units.“We expect this property to attract considerable interest from investors and developers alike at our upcoming live-streamed auction in December.
