Former pub set for apartments conversion

A former Gateshead pub looks set to be transformed into a residential scheme.The Beeswing Public House on the south side of Sunderland Road in Felling, at the junction of Quarry Row and High Street, is a late 19th century, three-storey structure.It was previously used as a pub and hotel, but more recently as a large residential house. The site is currently vacant.A Gateshead Council planning committee is set to approve plans to convert the building into 12 apartments at a meeting next week (14 July 2021).The housing mix would comprise ten one-bed and two two-bed units. The dwellings would be spread over three floors.
