Four Poole council tower blocks due for £15m overhaul
Poole Housing Partnership has decided to go-ahead with plans to upgrade four council tower blocks in the Dorset town centre in the wake of the Grenfell disaster.Contractors are being called up to tender for both internal and external works to Drake Court, Grenville Court, Nelson Court and Rodney Court.The £15m project includes removing existing render cladding to be replaced with terracotta cladding, resolve cold bridging and thermal issues. Existing balconies will be replaced with “wintergarden” enclosed balconies.Sprinkler systems will be fitted in all existing flats as part of the Project Admiral plan, which will get underway next year.
