Fourth phase of major housing development set to move forward

The fourth phase of a major residential scheme in North East Lincolnshire that will eventually provide more than 2,000 new homes has moved a step closer.Countryside Partnerships will bring forward a further 299 homes at Scartho Top in Grimsby after acquiring additional land in the vicinity of the Diana Princess of Wales hospital.The next phase of the scheme will consist of 61 affordable homes managed by Gainsborough-based housing charity Acis Group, 58 homes available for private rent via Start Living and 180 homes to be sold on the open market by Linden.The site has a GDV of £61m.Andrew Poyner, managing director of Countryside Partnerships Yorkshire, said: “Over the last 20 years Scartho Top has become a major new residential neighbourhood and we’re delighted to be building the next 299 new homes here. Our proposals include a broad mix of tenures, which creates greater opportunities for local people to find the home that’s right for them. We’re also pleased to be working again in partnership with Acis and Start Living, two quality partners who will help to deliver the best outcome for the site.”Paul Stockwell, chief commercial officer at Gatehouse Bank, said: “Grimsby is a town that we know and understand well, with Scartho Top a superb site close to local amenities such as the nearby Diana Princess of Wales hospital.
