The current contract for Gas appliance maintenance services in Kent is projected to end on 10/12/2017 and may be available for re-tender.The current contract for Gas appliance maintenance services in Kent included a long term contract arrangement to provide repairs and maintenance services to gas heating appliances and hot water systems in domestic and commercial properties owned or controlled by the Authority, comprising approximately 5 600 domestic properties with gas heating and hot water, 760 domestic properties with electrical heating and/or hot water and 9 sheltered blocks with commercial gas boilers serving an approximate total of 322 domestic units. The services shall comprise gas servicing and landlord’s safety checks, repair and maintenance works, replacement of boilers, and the provision of electrical heating and hot water systems within domestic dwellings and sheltered developments.The authority is also seeking a partner to replace and up-rate existing domestic heating systems to provide energy efficient and sustainable heating and ventilation solutions in domestic properties. The selected service provider would be expected to work with the Authority to maintain the authority’s excellent gas safety compliance record, and to assist in meeting the Authority’s environmental sustainability objectives and participate fully in consultation with residents.The authority intends to enter into a contract with the selected service provider in an amended form of TPC 2005 contract for an initial term of five (5) years to be extended at the authority’s sole option for a further period of two (2) years giving a total term of seven (7) years.
