Go-ahead for 1,800-home development
The go-ahead has been granted for up to 1,800 homes to be constructed in Nottinghamshire.Persimmon Homes is behind the bid for land on the edge of the village of Fernwood which was voted on by Newark and Sherwood District Council at a meeting on Tuesday 5 February 2019.The application was first heard by the planning committee on 13 September 2016, having been recommended for approval, and again on 24 July 2018 where council officers outlined further details to councillors.The 231.2-acre site is located to the south of Fernwood and currently forms nine agricultural fields. The proposal also includes a local centre, a two-form entry primary school and a sports hub.
