Go-ahead given to more than 200 homes

The proposed development of more than 200 homes on agricultural land in a Leicestershire town has been approved.Barwood Development Securities Ltd sought outline perimission from Charnwood Borough Council to build up to 210 homes on land off Ashby Road West in Shepshed.The application site relates to a number of agricultural land parcels, totalling about 30.6 acres.Access to the application site is proposed to be from two new vehicular and pedestrian accesses off Tickow Lane, to the western boundary of the application site.The applicant intends to provide both market and affordable dwellings and a mixture of housing types, including bungalows.Proposals were reviewed by the council’s planning committee on 15 July.
