Go-ahead set for retirement living development
A retirement living development could be created in Daventry if plans are approved at committee next week.McCarthy and Stone Retirement Lifestyles Ltd are seeking planning permission to develop the former site of Vineyard Community Church, Warwick Street. The land is currently vacant and has recently been cleared. The scheme would comprise 47 apartments, including 26 one bedroom and 21 two-bedroom units, within a single apartment building.Proposals also include a communal homeowners lounge, guest suite, reception area, refuse storey, mobility scooter storeroom with charging points and communal external landscaped gardens.A report drawn up for West Northamptonshire Council’s north planning committee – which meets on 10 January – said: “The proposed development represents an acceptable land use that would have an acceptable impact upon the character and appearance of the surrounding area, the highway network, drainage and flood risk, ecology and provide an acceptable housing proposal.”
