Graham signs off £161m Aberdeen hospital deal
Graham has agreed a £161m contract price for a new Aberdeen cancer and maternity hospital, and will now start work on the landmark project next month.Aberdeen’s Baird Family Hospital and ANCHOR Centre is the largest project to be procured through the Health Facilities Scotland Framework.NHS Grampian and Graham have had to overcome several budget challenges from major design improvements, and additional cost planning and Covid-19 delays.The Baird Family Hospital will be built on the site formerly occupied by the Foresterhill Health Centre and Breast Screening Centre on the Foresterhill Health Campus.It will unite all maternity, neonatal, reproductive medicine, breast and gynaecology services as well as a patient hotel and dedicated teaching and research facilities.At 5,500 sqm, The ANCHOR Centre build will involve CFA piles, erecting a steel frame and metal deckingThe ANCHOR Centre will attach to the existing Radiotherapy Centre and bring all haematology, oncology and radiotherapy day and outpatient services under one roof.The new facilities will help modernise patient care and facilities at the Foresterhill Health Campus.
