Grazing land all set for homes
A scheme to build almost 90 homes on grazing land in Burnley is set to be backed.BDW Trading Ltd, trading as Barratt Homes, wants to erect 87 houses on 9.9 acres of land south of Rossendale RoadA council document said the original plans for 101 homes has been reduced by 14 properties to “take account of objections, planning policies and to improve the quality of the scheme”.The proposal would provide a mix of two, three and four-bedroom houses in a range of semi-detached, detached and terrace properties.The plans would provide four affordable houses and electric charging points for cars would be installed on all plots.The council report now recommends approving the application subject to a section 106 agreement.It adds: “The scheme would also provide highly energy efficient homes on a key housing site and provide a degree of affordable housing with and a proportion of accessible and adaptable homes.”Burnley Council’s development control committee will decide the fate of the application at a meeting on Thursday, 7 April.
