Green light expected for new SEN school

Proposals for a new special educational needs (SEN) school in Birmingham have been recommended to be voted through next week.Land which once housed Hallmoor School in Hallmoor Road, Kitts Green, has been earmarked for the development.Under the plans, the buildings would be knocked down and a one and two-storey building for up to 140 SEN pupils would be constructed.Birmingham City Council’s planning committee is to make a final decision on the application at a meeting on Thursday 12 September.The application was submitted to the authority by Balfour Beatty Regional Construction.If approved, 100 members of staff would be based at the school.
