Green light for 1,200-home London Greenwich scheme
Housing association Hyde has gained planning to build 1,200 homes within the large Charlton Riverside regeneration area in the London Borough of Greenwich.The first phase will see 718 energy-efficient homes built, as well as commercial units at Herringham Road and New Lydenburg Street, close to the Thames Barrier, in blocks of up to 10 storeys. Around a third will be let at London Affordable Rent.Hyde also gained outline permission for a further 494 homes to be delivered in a future phase.Some of the homes will be built next to a safeguarded wharf.
